Because of the strong influence of what I see around me, I collect images with my camera to create a photographic composition that represents what I see the world as, through my own eyes. When working with ceramics I also draw influences from my surroundings. They are meant to co-exist, to converse with one another; though they may present different meanings to each other, nonetheless they all speak the same language. In using these materials, I am able to create any form or composition that interests me. I use clay and photography as if I am developing a whole new landscape of work, to engage the viewer to bring out a reaction and to respond with their own interpretation.
